11 NISAN / APRIL 11
Periche’de 2 gece gecirdikten sonra Lobouche’ye geliyoruz. Yol yine
koca daglarin golgesinde ilerliyor. Dag ne demekmis anlamak, gormek
isteyenler kesinlikle Himalayalari ve Karakoram daglarini gormeli.
Gerisi biraz hikaye. Yani hikaye derken dunyada bir suru yerdeki bir
dolu cok guzel daglari, dag siralarini kucumsuyor degilim ama
buyuk dag nasil olurmusu merak edenler icin, bence secenekler
Himalayalar ve Karakoram’dan ibaret.
Lobouche’ye varmadan 1 saat kadar once, Everest’te hayatini kaybetmis
dagcilarin anisina, aile ve arkadaslarinin yaptigi/yaptirdigi
anitlarin oldugu bir yerden geciyoruz. Dag kimseyi milliyetine,
cinsiyetine, ve tecrubesine gore ayirmiyor. Gecit vermeyecekse
vermiyor. Cok huzunlu bir yer. Burasi bize bu tirmanisin ne kadar
riskli oldugunu bir kez daha hatirliatiyor.
Lobouche’de de 2 gecelik bir programimiz var. Kosullar yuksekligin
artmasiyla zorlasmaya basladi. Hava daha soguk. Mesela bu sabah kar
yagisina uyandik. Ana kampta da kar yagiyormus. Lobouche’den sonra
direk ana kampa gidecegiz. Simdiye kadar izledigimiz programin ozeti
soyle:
Lukla’ya ucus ve Phakding
Namche Bazaar (2 gece)
Thame
Khumjung
Debouche
Periche (2 gece)
Lobuche (2 gece)
ve Everest ana kampi
………………………………………….
We spent 2 nights in Periche and came to Lobouche. Big mountains were
with us the whole way. If you want to understand what a big mountain
really is, you should see Himalayas and Karakoram range for sure. The
rest is not going to do it. I am not dismissing all the beautiful
mountain ranges all around the world but if one wants to grasp the
meaning of big mountains, the Himalayas and the Karakoram are the
places to go.
An hour before Lobouche, we pass through an area full of memorials for
those who lost their lives on Everest. The mountain doesn’t care who
you are, where you are from… If it doesn’t going to let you go, you
are not going. It is a very sad place indeed. Just another reminder of
the dangers of what we came here to do.
We are going to spend 2 nights in Lobouche. The conditions are getting
harsher as we move up higher. The weather is definitely colder. We
woke up to a snow this morning in Periche and heard that it was
snowing in base camp too. Lobouche will be our last stop before the
base camp. This is the schedule we followed so far:
Flying to Lukla and Phakding
Namche Bazaar (2 nights)
Thame
Khumjung
Debouche
Periche (2 nights)
Lobuche (2 nights)
and Everest base camp.
